ATEX / IECEx enclosures of HCS1A series control stations are made of aluminium alloy. HARDO control stationss have a minimum of IP65/66 rating. Aluminium enclosure is painted with powder coating providing it with high resistance to corrosion. HCS1A series control stations can be fitted with a variety of components like pushbuttons, signal lamps, switches and ammeters. A wide range of certified third party components is available. HCS1P series of control stations have following features:

hinged cover as an option

polyamide or metallic cable glands can be installed

cover gasket is made of silicone

components can be DIN rail or cover mounted

HCS1A series control stations are used in various hazardous areas where increased resistance to harsh environment is required. Main applications include:

NO/NC switch stations with or without signal lamps

mushroom head safety stop stations

isolator switches

measuring device stations

automation control stations

HCS1A series control stations can also include any combination of the above listed functions.

HCS1A series control stations can be fitted with a wide variety of certified components from leading global manufacturers. Among these components are pushbuttons, pilot and signal lamps, emergency mushroom head pushbuttons, circuit breakers, relays, isolator switches and measuring devices.

Push Buttons

Spring-return pushbutton units and spring-return double pushbuttons can be combined with various types of contact modules in order to provide many different combinations of NO and NC contacts. These units are available in different colours and, as an option, may be fitted with various marking labels.

Emergency Mushroom Head Pushbuttons

Spring return mushroom head pushbutton units, complete with one electrical contact module.

Push-pull emergency mushroom head pushbutton units (with or without key extraction), complete with one electrical contact module.

Turn-to-release emergency mushroom head pushbutton units complete with one electrical contact module.

Selector Switches

Stay-put or spring return key selector units complete with one electrical contact module.

Signal Lamps

Signal lamps approved for use in hazardous areas. They come complete with an LED unit designed for different voltages as per electrical circuit requirements.  Signal lamps are available in different colors.

Signal Lamps with Button

Spring-return illuminated push button unit. Complete with LED unit, available in different voltages and with one electrical contact. Available with different combinations of NO and NC contacts. Available in different colours.

Potentiometer unit with range of resistance values. The knob is provided with a large visual display.

Voltmeters, Ammeters, Miliammeters

The HVA (Harmonic Voltage Analysis) Voltmeter, Ammeter, Miliammeter units are available with a large number of measuring range options, scaled 2 or 5 times. The ammeter unit can make a direct measurement or be used in conjunction with current transformers and upon request, secondary current transformers. The ammeter has a working temperature range from -40°C to +60°C

Switch module 2 – Pole

Two separate pressing rods controlling a group of contacts each. One group or two groups of contacts can be controlled by different operation heads to have different functions.

Switch module 4 – Pole

Two separate metal pressing elements, controlling two group of contacts each. Two groups or four groups of contacts can be controlled by different operation heads to have different functions.

Protective Window

Pilot light window of thermoresistant glass sealed with auto-leveling silicone.

Circuit breakers

Circuit breakers are devices that shut off power flow when a short circuit occurs. They are designed to protect people in potentially explosive atmospheres and can be used with currents of 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32 or 40 amps, with residual currents of 10, 30, 100 and 300 milliamps.

Contactors Rated voltage 24 V / 240 V

Contactors are compact components for Ex e enclosures in Zones 1 and 2, and are durable and reliable for use in hazardous areas. All are easy to install, rugged and corrosion-resistant. The contactors are mounted in Ex e protected enclosures and can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Load Isolation Switches with Handle for currents up to 180 A

Load isolation switch module is certified and must be installed in an increased safety “Ex e” enclosure. It has good flame retardant performance and fast connect or breaking once the spring is tight to release. Wire terminals’ screws are made of stainless steel.

Cable Glands

Cable Glands are devices that are used to connect and fasten the end of an electrical cable to the target equipment. Cable Glands are used for all types of power, control, instrumentation, data and communications cables. There are cable glands for non-armoured and armoured cables. In addition to a wide range of cable glands other accessories like adaptors, reducers and stopping plugs are available.

ATEX control station made of aluminium – advantages

High resistant to corrosion

Aluminum control stations offer several advantages over other types of control stations, particularly in hazardous areas. For example, aluminum control stations are highly resistant to corrosion which is a common problem in harsh environments. This makes them ideal for use in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, marine and offshore applications.

Heat dissipation

Another advantage of aluminum control stations is their excellent heat dissipation property. Unlike other materials such as plastic or fiberglass, aluminum can absorb and dissipate heat quickly, which helps prevent the buildup of heat inside of the enclosure. This is particularly important in environments where the ambient temperature is high as it helps prevent equipment from overheating and malfunctioning.

Resistance to impacts, vibrations and other mechanical stress

Aluminum control stations are also highly durable and long-lasting. They can withstand impacts, vibrations and other types of mechanical stress, which can help ensure reliable operation in harsh environments. In addition, aluminum control stations are resistant to fire and explosions, which is crucial in hazardous environments where these risks are present.

Overall, aluminum control stations offer a reliable and robust solution for controlling equipment in hazardous areas. Their resistance to corrosion, excellent heat dissipation properties, durability and customization options make them an ideal choice for businesses looking to ensure safety and compliance in explosive atmospheres.
