Reducers, Adaptors, Stopping Plugs

Reducers and adaptors are devices that are used to reduce/increase entry thread size and/or change entry thread type. Reducers and adaptors are usually used in combination with cable glands or other threaded devices. Stopping plugs are used to blank off unused entries of hazardous area approved devices while allowing them to maintain their integrity and Ex ratings.

What is this Ex (explosion proof) cable glands?

Explosion-proof cable glands are type of sealing devices used to secure and seal electrical cables entering an explosion-proof enclosure. These glands are designed to prevent the ingress of flammable gases or dust into the enclosure, while also preventing any electrical sparks or heat generated inside the enclosure from igniting any explosive atmosphere outside of it.

Ex cable glands are typically made of materials that are resistant to high temperatures, corrosion and impact, they are designed to be airtight to ensure complete protection against any hazardous environment. They are commonly used in hazardous environments such as chemical processing plants, refineries and mines, where there is a risk of explosion.

Where to use Ex (explsion proof) cable glands?

It is essential to use explosion-proof cable glands in such hazardous environments to prevent the spread of explosions and to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. Failure to use an explosion-proof cable gland can lead to catastrophic consequences, including loss of life, property damage and environmental contamination.

Why to use Ex (explsion proof) cable glands?

Explosion-proof cable glands are suitable for use in any situation where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable gases or dust. They are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions and maintain their integrity even in the event of an explosion, providing critical protection for workers and the surrounding environment.
