Ex/ATEX Aluminum Enclosures
The aluminum EX enclosure for industrial environments, including chemical and petrochemical plants. Thanks to the use of copper-free aluminum, the device provides high resistance to corrosion, including marine environments. The enclosure is equipped according to customer requirements with cable glands, Ex e or Ex i terminals, and mounting rails. The maximum number of terminals depends on the cable cross-section, operating temperature of the enclosure, and the required temperature class. The enclosures have ATEX (designation II 2 GD) and IECEx certifications.
HTB1A series aluminium enclosures are manufactured from a low-copper (less than 0,1%) aluminium alloys and feature an external polyester powder coating (RAL 7001) anti-loosening bolts and earthing screws made from stainless steel alloy AISI 316L. Aluminium enclosures are available in a variety of sizes allowing for a vast and flexible range of heights. Aluminium Ex Terminal Boxes have excellent corrosion resistance which makes them ideal for a variety of offshore and onshore applications. In addition, they can meet the requirements to corrosion protection for chemical, petrochemical and harsh environments.

Protection of Aluminum Ex Enclosures for Explosion Hazard Zones
Aluminum Ex enclosures with designations:
- gases and vapors: II 2 G Ex db eb ia/ib mb IIC/IIB T6 Gb
- dusts: II 2 D Ex tb IIIC T85°C Db
are designed to ensure safety and protection in explosion hazard environments. Their design and safety features are crucial for providing reliable protection of electrical and electronic devices in the industry. Below we present the main advantages of these enclosures and the protections they offer. Here is an explanation of what types of protection have been applied to the enclosure and its components:
- eb - enhanced protection (PN-EN 60079-7)
- tb - protection of equipment against dust ignition by enclosure (PN-EN 60079-31)
- db - explosion protection in flameproof enclosures (PN-EN 60079-1)
- ia/ib - intrinsically safe protection (PN-EN 60079-11)
- mb - protection by encapsulation (PN-EN 60079-18)
Advantages of Aluminum Ex Enclosures
- Lightness and Durability: Aluminum as a material for enclosures offers an ideal combination of lightness and strength. This facilitates easy transport and installation, while providing solid protection for internal components.
- Corrosion Resistance: Aluminum is known for its excellent resistance to corrosion, which is particularly important in harsh industrial conditions, such as marine areas or chemical plants.
- Excellent Thermal Conductivity: Quick heat dissipation from inside the enclosure is key to maintaining optimal device temperature. Aluminum, with its thermal conductivity, effectively serves this purpose.
